In Cajun country: Henderson
We drive to Breaux Bridge’s tiny town center for lunch. The occasion to eat a Cajun specialty: Po boy. It’s a sandwich open in half generally with cooked meat or seafood. The bread is like that cheap industrial we don’t like, but very soft.
Then we head to the bayou in Henderson. There, Whiskey River landing gets busy every Sunday from 3 to 8pm when Cajun bands play live. Cowboy hat, jeans, belt and boots y’all! A few came on Harley Davidson, others on horse. There’s tourists like us watching the locals rocking the dancefloor. It’s the third day we see a Cajun gig, and we’re starting to know some songs!
