In Jackson, Mississippi
After the few busy days we’ve had, we sleep in. The road to the capital of Mississippi is pretty quick, two hours and a half. We stop for lunch in a state park on the way. In Jackson, were surprised to find nothing, the city center seems to be a CBD, it’s Saturday so it’s dead. The state capitol looks nice, a lot of people are taking their prom pictures around it. It’s actually an experience for me, I’ve seen teens in their prom dresses and suits only on TV shows. Our book says there’s a trendy area with a unmissable diner north of the center. We drive there, and there’s nothing. The diner, Walker’s drive-in, is the only place with people around. It opened 10 minutes ago and there’s already a line. We started lining up but realized the tables looked really fancy, table cloth and candle on it. A quick check online and we turned around, not our budget. Direction: Walmart for the night!
