In Valley of Fire State Park

We made it to Nevada and before heading to Vegas we go to Valley of Fire State Park. The place bears well its name with the outcrops of bright red sandstone surrounded by the typical gray limestone of Nevada. We don’t hike much in the park, the temperatures are unbearable and we want to reach Vegas in the middle of the afternoon. Nevertheless, it was well worth the detour for the striking vistas.
