In Savannah

We’re back in Georgia. Savannah is the oldest city of the state and lies 30km upriver from the ocean, just below South Carolina. It was founded by the British in 1733 along with the colony of Georgia. Savannah has one of the largest historic district of the US, making it a top tourist destination. It’s one of the best city to walk around thanks to the large oak trees, the 22 squares and the stunning antebellum architecture (pre-civil war). The pictures speak for themselves. More like a giant suburb than a proper city with a pulsing center, the slow pace and art culture along the historic buildings make it a trip highlight.
