In San Diego
The spanish past of California feels stronger in San Diego, where Mexico is visible with naked eye. It is the eighth-largest city in the United States and second-largest in California, yet it feels like a small city. Little Italy has a mix of italian places and hipster corners. Downtown and its Gaslamp district is an historical quarter pulsing with restaurants and night venues. The Old Town, further north, is where it all started. Now a state park, the area gives a glimpse of the wild west thanks to the restored buildings and their history. South of San Diego, Coronado is a rich town famous for its Hotel Coronado, an holiday stop for people with a big wallet.
