At Yale
Yesterday we drove out of New York to the Black Rock state park campground in Connecticut. There we worked on Sully, this time sanding the rust on the roof and painting it. This morning we did the usual cleaning session. In the afternoon we start our drive of the New England coastline, New Haven, home of Yale, is our first stop. America’s third oldest University was founded in 1701 to educate students for public employment both in church and civil state. Over the years the University has worked to educate leaders and contributors of every sector of the society and is now organized in 14 schools. Graduates include 20 living billionaires, 5 presidents (including the Bushes and Clinton, as well as almost-president Hillary), over 500 members of Congress, 57 Nobel laureates, and many more notable people. Drama school graduates include Meryl Streep, Sigourney Weaver, Jodie Foster, Lupita Nyong’o… Fun fact: Yale students invented the Frisbee, tossing pie plates from the Frisbie Pie Company to each other and calling “frisbie!” to warn passerby.
