Driving to Quebec
We drive to make it to Rivière-du-Loup, a town on the South bank of the St Laurent river. It’s pouring rain on most of the trip in the morning. In the afternoon we make a stop at Témiscouata-sur-le-lac, the occasion to get a beer in a typical french setting: a bar type PMU (horse racing gambling bar). The place is a meeting spot for the old locals, they have venous noses from the amount of alcohol they drink and grey wrinkly skin from all the cigarettes they smoke. On top of it I’m having fun listening to the French Canadian accent. We sleep at Walmart in Rivière-du-Loup, along about 20 other RVs, it looks like a campground.
