Across Missouri

We cross the whole state of Missouri to go from St Louis to Kansas City. On the way we stop at Arrow Rock, a small town with 1830s preserved buildings.

West of the state is KCMO: Kansas City, Missouri. Yeah, the city is not in Kansas, although there’s a Kansas City in Kansas just next to it. Confusing. KCMO was founded before the state of Kansas even exist, the name comes from an Indian tribe. In the late 19th century KCMO was a thriving city, a group of small towns just on the other side of the border formed Kansas City, Kansas, in order to confuse and to attract people to their KC. But KCMO is still the main attraction with neighborhoods like The Plaza ( a shopping district with Mediterranean architecture), the River Market, and trendy Westport filled with bars.
